The people building SpontUP
A small team that got tired of plans dying in the group chat.
It started with an evening nobody planned.
Six people, one group chat, and four hours of “we should do something” that ended with everyone at home on their phones. It happens every week, to everyone. That evening it just annoyed us enough to do something about it.
The problem was never that people don't want to meet. It's that arranging it costs more than the thing itself — picking a time, waiting on replies, someone dropping out, and by then the evening is gone.
So we built the opposite. No planning, no polls, no waiting: open SpontUP, see what's happening near you in the next hour, and go. Two of us are building it in Latvia, starting with Riga, and we're doing it in the open.

Right now beats someday
If a plan needs a calendar, it's already too much work. Everything on SpontUP is happening today — usually within the hour.
Real places, not feeds
We're not trying to keep you scrolling. The app has done its job the moment you close it and walk out the door.
Small and local first
One city at a time. A feed only works if the things on it are close enough to actually reach, so we'd rather be busy in Riga than empty everywhere.
